NeighborWorks is a non-profit organization, working with the public and private sector to improve local communities and to secure safe and affordable housing available to everyone

Since 2009, NeighborWorks America has been working tirelessly on preventing mortgage refinance scams, which are still rampantly preying on homeowners throughout the country.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with NeighborWorks and helping them get the word out about this project. Through Media Tours, public service announcements and other public outreach initiatives we have helped them reach over 2 million homeowners nationwide.

Committed to informing the public, and especially vulnerable homeowners facing foreclosure, NeighborWorks has put together valuable information packets designed to guide people on the right path towards mortgage refinancing.

NeighborWorks points out several red flags when considering mortgage reinstallment plans.

  • A company/person asks for a fee in advance to work with your lender to modify, refinance of reinstate your mortgage.
  • A company/person guarantees they can stop a foreclosure or get your loan modified.
  • A company/person advises you to stop paying your mortgage company or to pay them instead.

These scam artists pay for advertising slots on radio stations, and in he print media. Their offers are very attractive to homeowners who find themselves in desperate situations, such as facing foreclosure. Informing platforms and ad space owners of the illegal practices they help advertise, is a crucial part of the NeighborWorks campaign.

Over the years we have completed many broadcast and video projects with NeighborWorks America, and last week we filmed a PSA in Schenectady, New York. Here are some photos with the wonderful NeighborWorks staff from the shoot.
